The Legacy project began as a booklist of Sustainability resources. Joanne set out to compile a list of positive environmental solutions, covering all realms of society.
Joanne quickly realized that we didn't need just one more list of nonfiction resources; we needed an illustration. We needed to be able to see how society can emerge from our unsustainable present and blossom into a truly greener future. Joanne created Legacy, the visionary environmental novel which shows us how we can change the course.
Legacy is a story rich with nonfiction: environmental issues and environmental solutions. Legacy is a tale of activism - the dedication, the passion, the disappointments, the triumphs. Through Legacy you can experience the possibilities over the next 40 years as greener ideas and technologies are embraced by mainstream society.
Even before the book was published, Legacy became much more than pages and ink. It spawned a community of Environmental Change-Makers - people who wished to bring these environmental solutions alive in their everyday lifestyles.
In writing a book about positive environmental solutions, one soon becomes a magnet for positive environmental news. Joanne began posting positive environmental news on this website, together with occasional comments on environmental issues.
Joanne's focus has always been What We Can Do, particularly about global warming. In her speaking appearances she emphasizes our power - as grassroots citizens - to create real change in the course of society.
The Legacy project helps us envision the direction of the future and make earth-wiser choices, to leave a better environmental Legacy for future generations.
